Youtube Nextup Billiards Promotion Voting Nears End

Youtube Nextup Billiards Contest Closing April 8

Less than 36 hours left to vote!

Voting is coming to an end on April 8! Please vote daily and share the link on Facebook,Twitter and everywhere else fans of billiards gather!The highly coveted Youtube Nextup Contest is nearing the end of the voting round. The contest is helping promote billiards with the inclusion of InsidePOOLmag as one of the semifinalists. The channels that receive the top votes advance to the finals, where the Youtube judges will determine the winners.

The contest will single out several channels and genres that will receive promotion and support from Youtube. Billiards needs your votes in order to receive this promotion in the future. We're asking our viewers to vote for our video using the following link.

You are permitted only one vote per day, but you may vote Thursday and Friday. The catch is that voting ends at 5 pm PST on Friday, April 8, 2011. USSA Expands Snooker Tour Schedule


United States Snooker Association Expands the

2011 USSA National Snooker Tour Schedule

 

Please note the final, expanded schedule below for the 2011 USSA National Snooker Tour.  New stops have been added and dates changed, so that you may update these events on your calendar.

 

The United States Snooker Association (USSA), established in 1991 in Chicago, Illinois, is the non-profit governing body for the sport of snooker in the USA as recognized by the world snooker governing body, the International Billiard & Snooker Federation (IBSF).  Now headquartered in California, the USSA is pleased to announce the 2011 edition of the popular “USSA National Snooker Tour.” Each event is open to any individual except professional snooker players.  For details, please contact the USSA representative assigned to each respective event (listed below).  A $25 annual membership to the USSA is not required, but requested, of entries.  The 2011 USSA National Snooker Tour is proud to be sponsored by two of the heavyweights in the snooker industry – Aramith Snooker Balls and Strachan Snooker Cloth!

The USSA traditionally sends its champions to the annual IBSF World Snooker Championships.  Annual national champions are determined at the annual USSA National Championships, the 2011 version of which will be conducted in Brooklyn, NY later this year.  The current national champion is Ahmed Aly El Sayed (New York, NY), who successfully defended his title at the Embassy Billiards Club in San Gabriel, CA in July.  The top finishers from each Nationals also become qualified for Team USA in the annual Can-Am Snooker Challenge, which will be conducted July 26-27, 2011, in Brooklyn NY.

NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY (NIU) TO HOST THE BEF JUNIOR NATIONALS

The Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) is pleased to announce that Northern Illinois University (NIU) will host the 23rd Annual BEF Junior National 9-Ball Championships on July 6 -10, 2011.

 

Over 150 young billiard athletes are expected to qualify for the BEF Junior Nationals which will be held at the Huskies Den located in the Holmes Student Center on the NIU campus in DeKalb, Illinois. The seventeen (17) 9-foot billiard tables will be draped with Simonis Cloth and will set the stage where junior players will be competing for scholarships, prizes and an invitation to represent the United States at the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) World Junior 9-Ball Championships.

 

To participate in the BEF Junior Nationals, players must earn an entry through a BEF qualifier or must be appointed by their local junior league. The national event features 4 divisions: 18 & Under Boys, 18 & Under Girls, 14 & Under Boys, and 14 & Under Girls. Qualifiers will be held throughout the United Stated and are currently being scheduled through May.
